As a wedding photographer, I’m constantly learning and working to improve my techniques so I can serve couples to the best of my ability. Last year, I had the opportunity to participate in a photography workshop and learn from Christa of Christa Rene Photography. Christa has become such a sweet friend and mentor to me over the past year. Not only is Christa an amazing photographer, but she is also one of the kindest people I have ever had the joy of knowing! She has been so helpful to me in my photography journey. I know I’ve become a better wedding photographer because of all she has taught me. This incredible workshop and styled shoot took place at the beautiful Barn at Sitton Hill Farm in Easley, SC.

About the Workshop & Styled Shoot

During the first few hours of the workshop, Christa shared her insights and best practices in a variety of topics that are key in understanding how to book weddings and photograph them well. After that, we took a couple of hours just before sunset to photograph the styled shoot the amazing vendors had created for us. The rolling hills, brick paver patio, and gorgeous sunset really made me feel like I was a guest at a wedding in the European countryside. Add in a stunning couple, beautiful watercolor invitation suite details, and some bold color and…VOILA! In other words, it was as if all of my European dreams were coming true! After we had photographed the styled shoot to our hearts’ content, we went back inside for a final lesson. Christa used this time to teach us about shooting wedding receptions and how to effectively use flash.

Because of the hard work of Christa, the models, and each of the vendors, the whole day was absolutely amazing! So, without further ado, I’m thrilled to share some of my favorite images from the shoot with you today!
